History of our name: Vintage American Home

Our family started selling antiques and American pre owned furnishings about twenty years ago.  We were decorating and staging model homes and then selling the furnishings when we were done with the stage.  It turns out there is such a desire for traditional American furniture and home decor that we ended up selling furniture full time and decorating on the side.

People in the know realized that the quality of “New” furniture was so inferior to pre owned American made furniture that the demand has increased steadily.  I was getting calls saying “Is that new Ethan Allen or pre 1990’s?”  The latter being preferable because it was made in the U. s. and not in China.  We started accumulating horror stories of people who had invested a lot of money in brand new – foreign made- furniture and had found the quality was not what they had been used to.

To meet the needs of homeowners who preferred the higher quality of American made piece over new piece from China, Indonesia and Vietnam we started specializing in pre owned high end American made furnishings and home decor in a variety of price points for the individual needs of our clients.  Each shopping section is filled with unique one of a kind items.  Many items come and go quickly.  Some clients send us a wish list and we keep an eye out for what they are looking for – they end up being the first to know when something meets their need.

We began to sell many of our products through our website but personal appointments to our West Chester, Pa. showroom are still regularly made.  Online customers are free to ask for more info and or more photos of any item.  Be assured of our careful packing and insured Fed Ex delivery.  Local delivery for large items is available for a fee.  Long distance white glove delivery is also available and depends where you live so please email or call us.
