I try to keep things simple. It is always a big job. Broken lights, tangled cords and mangled bows. This year there was a bunch of stuff that had been inhabited by a squirrel – nest and all – from the back shed.
The best tip that I have after many years of Christmas Decorating- get ready wait for it – plastic suction cups!!!
I started using the suction cups on the windows to hang the outdoor wreaths! It really worked! They even stayed up during the winter of 2013- 2014! The worst winter in modern history in West Chester, Pa.!!!!!
Pretend you don’t see all the cords that are going all over the place!!
This wreath is held onto a wire that is strung up to a staple that I stapled into the top ledge of the door.
Ok maybe the American Flag does not go with the christmas decor but I will never take it down as long as we have soldiers in a war. God bless our brave men and women who fight to defend and protect our country and keep us free! God bless their families that are home alone this Christmas.
The second best outdoor Christmas decorating tip that I have learned is to use cheap lights that are short. I have found that no matter how much you spend on the lights half of them always go out. So why spend a lot of money on them? You try to replace the bulbs but that never helps does it? Keep the strings shorter so you have less strings to take off when they suddenly don’t work anymore! What do you think?
