Decorating My “Designer” Christmas Tree: Step-by-Step

I purchased this tree a number of years ago, and over the years it has been decorated in a number of “themes” and color schemes, but this one is by far my favorite! It looks a little like a Charlie Brown Christmas tree with its stick-like branches in the “before” pictures, the separation of the branches is one of the reasons it looks so great after it’s decorated! Below are my step-by-step photos with tips.

Lights! I recommend white lights for a tree like this, but if you choose to use colored lights, mix in white lights as well. You’ll be surprised at the difference! Always make sure your lights are tucked well into the branches.

faux berry branches! These are pretty easy to find around Christmas. Look for long branches with bendable wire.

and here is my finished tree! For the skirt, I used a piece of beautiful striped fabric and tucked the raw edges underneath, and I made a big bow for the top of the tree. Merry Christmas!
